PREPARATION
1. BumperShellz™ are secured using the highest quality 3M Auto-Grade tape. The optimal temperature for installation is between 68°F and 100°F. If the ambient temperature is below 68°F use a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the bumper and 3M tape immediately prior to installation.
2. Ensure the surface is clean. After a quick wash use Isopropyl alcohol lint-free cloth to clean the surface thoroughly. For professional results use 3M brand prep solvent 70, Adhesion Promoter 94, or a similar vinyl adhesion promoter product.
3. Dry fit all parts before removing 3M tape to check for fitment and practice the installation method before the attachment is permanent.
The degree to which you follow these preparation instructions will determine the quality of the installed product. Please follow all instructions and be patient. Getting Started
1. Remove clip and bolt on underside of bumper cap.
2. Perform a dry fit to check fit quality and paint match (if necessary) by following the next steps without removing the backing to the 3M tape. Practice the process of installing the overlay before the backing is removed to make the final installation easier and more foolproof.
3. Clean bumper cap surface with isopropyl alcohol where 3M tape will be touching down.
4. Apply adhesion promoter to the surface of the bumper cap where the 3M tape will be applied.
5. Pull the lower inner plastic trim slightly away from the bumper cap to make room for the overlay. This may require popping through the snap-fit clip located behind this piece. This clip will be accessible from behind the bumper.
6. Remove the red backing to the 3M tape
7. Align the inside edge of the bumper cover with the edge of the center bumper trim. Slip the top edge of the bumper cover underneath the step pad.
8. After you are satisfied with the position of the bumper cover, put firm pressure on the areas of the overlay where the 3M tape is exposed.
9. Snap the lower trim price back into place and replace the bolt and clip.
10. Repeat on opposite side.
