Before You Get Started...
Preparation
The degree to which you follow these preparation instructions will determine the quality of the installed product. Please follow all instructions and be patient. If you are unsure of any area of the installation after reading these instructions, please call us at 844-918-3688, and we will answer any questions that you have.
Installation
NOTE: Dry-Fit all BumperShellz pieces to their specific locations BEFORE removing ANY of the red backing strips from the tape. Make sure all pieces are correct, i.e., you have received all pieces shown above, color/pattern is correct, and that all are undamaged. There should not be any (or extremely minimal) bumper surface visible once the bumper cover is placed on the bumper. Dry Fitting is also good practice for lining up each piece and guiding it into place, visualizing how to do it when the backing strips are removed, and the tape is STICKY. Note that once the backing is removed, we cannot give full credit for return.
1. Slide your trim tool under the step pad to free rocks and dirt that are trapped there to make way for the edge of the overlay to slip underneath. Perform your dry fit by following all the steps in the instructions without removing the red backing tape. This will ensure a secure fit and give you some practice before permanently installing the overlays.
2. Perform your dry fit by following all the steps below in the instructions without removing the red backing tape. Use this time to check for fitment and color match, before the installation is permanent.
*Note: If you have sensor-hole cutouts, ensure the BumperShellz is tucked under the step pad in order to properly line them up with your sensors.

3. Ensure the bumper is clean and free of debris. Use Isopropyl rubbing alcohol to free the bumper surface of any chemicals or soap residue that may limit the effectiveness of the 3M tape. Apply the adhesion promoter stick along all areas of the bumper where the 3M tape will be touching down.
*Only if you have it: Peel back the protective film from the edges of the overlay. This will ensure that the film won't get caught during final installation. We recommend performing this action before you attempt to install the overlay.
4. Take your trim tool and slide it between the plastic upper and chrome lower sections of your rear bumper to ensure that all debris trapped in that space is removed. This is a very important step as the overlay needs to slide all the way between this space.
INSTALLING SIDE OVERLAY SECTIONS
5. Begin by installing the side sections of the rear overlays. Peel all the backing completely to all of the interior pieces of 3M tape. On all perimeter sections of tape, peel and tape the first 1" of backing to the 3M tape to the rear for easy access later. Refer to the images below for instruction.
6. Wrap the front side cover around to the corner of the bumper. (It does not matter which side you start with). Use your trim tool to create a little space to allow the Shell to slide under the step pad. *If you have them, be sure that the overlay sensor hole cutouts align with your truck sensors before applying pressure. Once you double-check this, apply firm pressure to the part as you move along. Be sure to apply direct pressure around the sensor hole as well.
7. Repeat steps 4-5 on the opposite side.
8. Now, carefully pull on the exposed areas of red backing you taped to the front surface during step 4 all around the perimeter on the left and right overlays. After the tape is removed, put firm pressure along the edges of the overlays.
INSTALLING CENTER OVERLAY SECTION
9. Now begin the installation of the Center Section. Dry fit the center section before moving on to the next step. Ensure both sides are flushed with the passenger and driver side overlays before moving on to the next step.
10. Peel all the backing completely to the upper section. On the lower tape section, peel and tape the first 1" of backing to the 3M tape to the rear for easy access later. Refer to the images below for instruction.. *If you have it, peel back the edges of your protective film so they don't get stuck during installation.
10. Peel all the backing completely to the upper section. On the lower tape section, peel and tape the first 1" of backing to the 3M tape to the rear for easy access later. Refer to the images below for instruction.. *If you have it, peel back the edges of your protective film so they don't get stuck during installation.
11. Place the overlay on the center section of the bumper. The edges of the center section should be slightly overlapping the edges of the side covers you have installed. After you are satisfied with its position, put pressure on the areas of tape on the interior of the part where all of the backing to the 3M tape has been removed.
12. Remove the masking tape and peel back the tabs we exposed on the lower section of the center overlay. Put firm pressure along the edges of the overlays.
Final Seps
13. All the sections of the BumperShellz should now be fully installed. Put firm pressure once again on all areas where the 3M tape is contacting the bumper to ensure proper adhesion.
*Again, only if you have it, you may now remove the protective film completely from your overlays.

14. Wait 48 hours before taking your vehicle through automated car washes or driving on the highway. Reapply pressure to all taped areas 24 hours after the initial installation.
NOTE for Maximum Adhesion: The acrylic foam tape used to adhere your BumperShellz is “pressure sensitive”, so making sure there is sufficient pressure applied to each of the taped areas is vital to achieve optimum adhesion of your BumperShellz™ to your bumper. It is also recommended that you come back a few hours later, or the next day, to give each BumperShellz piece another pressure rub to ensure the best adhesion. Allow the tape adhesive to set up for at least 24 hours before washing your truck. Maximum adhesion is reached after 3-5 days in temperatures above 70 degrees, longer if it is cooler. Once the adhesive has fully bonded to a properly prepared bumper surface, it is nearly impossible to remove the BumperShellz without damaging them. Please refer to “removal instructions” in the BumperShellz FAQ section on the website, should removal be necessary.
Care for your BumperShellz™
Care for your BumperShellz™ like you would any fine paint finish. Use high quality cleaning products designed specifically for car care.
Gloss finishes: Oftentimes, minor scratches can be buffed out on the gloss finishes. Rubbing compounds can be used with a mechanical buffer, for deeper scratches.
Matte finishes are much more susceptible to abrasions, leaving a "glossy sheen" on the finish, which are generally permanent. Do not attempt to buff out scratches/abrasions on your matte finish, as this will generally make the damage worse. Avoid excessive friction when trying to remove anything stuck to the matte finish surface and keep cleaning rags/water clean and abrasive free. Abrasive brush-type car washes are not recommended, as they can abrade the Matte finish. Brushless car washes are acceptable.
