Before You Get Started...CRITICAL: Mandatory Dry Fit
Always perform a complete dry fit of both the front and rear Door Guard overlays before removing the red 3M adhesive backing. Check that the parts sit completely flush against your factory trim. Once the protective red backing is removed, the product cannot be returned.
- Temperature Requirements: Adhesive bonding works best between 68°F and 100°F. If you are installing in cooler weather, gently warm the vehicle trim and the 3M tape on the back of the part with a heat gun or hair dryer before application.

Step-by-Step Installation Instructions:
Step 1: Deep Clean the Application Area
Thoroughly clean the vehicle's factory trim using isopropyl alcohol and a clean microfiber cloth. Remove all dust, road grime, wax, or detailing residues. The surface must be completely spotless for the adhesive to bond properly.
Step 2: Conduct the Dry Fit
Position the front and rear overlays onto the vehicle doors without removing the tape backing. Verify how they line up with the factory trim pieces to ensure a flush, perfect fit. Take note of the alignment points so you can match them during final installation.
Step 3: Prep and Black Out the Center Chrome
- Clean the small piece of chrome trim located between the front and rear doors using isopropyl alcohol.
- Align and apply the provided laser-cut blackout tape directly over the chrome piece.
- If necessary, trim the corners slightly to ensure the tape lies perfectly flat.
- Fold the edges over and use your plastic pry bar to tuck the tape in neatly for a seamless look. Repeat this process on the opposite side of the vehicle.
Step 4: Apply Adhesion Promoter
Open the included adhesion promoter packet and apply a thin layer across the entire installation surface of both the front and rear factory trim areas. Allow the promoter to dry completely before moving to the next step.
Step 5: Align and Install the Overlays
- Peel the red plastic backing off the 3M adhesive tape on the front Door Guard overlay.
- Immediately bring the piece to the vehicle, carefully checking your alignment as you guide it into place.
- Press the overlay firmly onto the trim. Because 3M tape is pressure-sensitive, you must apply firm, consistent pressure along the entire length of the piece to activate the bond.
- Repeat this exact process for the rear cab door overlay.
Step 6: The Final Polish (Pro-Tip)
Once the overlays are securely in place, take a clean, dry microfiber cloth and firmly rub down the entire surface of the parts. Using the cloth protects the finish from fingerprints and scratches while giving you the leverage needed to apply that final bit of pressure for a permanent bond.
